Employee & Community Safety

We are committed to providing a workplace where our employees can be safe, healthy, and productive. To accomplish this, we continuously evaluate our safety performance, welcome feedback, and use data to lead training, employee engagement, and our company’s policy decisions with the best interest of the communities we serve.

Environmental Protection Safety

We are sensitive to the environmental impact of our business activities on both our local and global communities. We collaborate with our employees, customers, and partners to be positive stewards of the air, water, and land that we all share. We accept broken millings and recycle materials in order to maximize our resource efficiency and minimize our global footprint.

Transport & Equipment Safety

We operate an extensive fleet of commercial vehicles and require that each vehicle and its operator meet stringent federal safety standards. We actively monitor all equipment, investigate all safety related incidents, and continuously train our crews. We fully stand behind every gold & red truck you see out on the roads that we share in MD & VA.

Our Safety Assurance

The F.O. Day Co. safety policy is continuously evaluated and updated based on advancements in modern technology, professional feedback from trusted advisors, and insight from our 76+ years of experience.

We proudly belong to the National Safety Council and participate in the Association of Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Metro Washington Peer Safety Group. In addition, our safety director is a member of The American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP).
